Doggy Day Number One

I don't have one of those fancy doggy cams I'm pretty sure our 4 ShihTzus are enjoying lounging around out in the backyard. Yep, I can guess that as soon as I hit the door they'll pretend that their whole day was spent just pining for me as they anxiously awaited my return. Yeah, right! It's not that I mind that much that they are content to never earn a dime or work for their keep. Oh, I've tried to draw their attention to the working class dog, group. How happy they seem, I mention, but on deaf floppy ears. They just aren't all that interested. You see, I don't think these dogs have grasp the concept that they are supposed to be totally enamoured with me, ready to please at every waking moment. No, they apparently did not inherit that gene from any of their ancestors.  Maybe it's the breed, having come from the royal Chinese court, they are the ones content to be waited on. Oh, why did I not choose the working breed? A golden retriever or lab to run to the farthest distance just to impress me with their unwavering dedication to bring me a slobbering ball, a precious gift to humor me would have been wonderful. Oh, sure, I would have shivered a bit at the slimy gift, but it would have been with appreciation of the thought behind it. No, instead, my furry squatters insist on meals, shelter and water, along with expensive trips to the groomers, all on my precious dime. Got to love a dog's life, especially this bunch!!
